WARREN -- The Trumbull Job and Family Services director has begun an investigation of two peep holes found in walls.
The holes would allow someone to see into two ladies restrooms at the agency.
Director Thomas Mahoney said a straw-size hole was found March 17 on a wall in a stairwell. It was large enough for someone to see into the stall of a first-floor ladies restroom, and the hole was patched.
That restroom is used only by staff, Mahoney said.
Another hole the size of a softball was found in a custodial supply room that could have also permitted someone to see into a different first-floor ladies restroom. That hole appears when someone removes a flood drain, Mahoney said.
This problem has also been repaired, he added.
That restroom is used by staff and customers.
Identifying perpetrator
Officials are reviewing a surveillance camera and interviewing personnel to try and find who is responsible, he said.
Mahoney explained that the perpetrator is probably an employee because the custodial supply room is only accessible with a key.
Security and custodial staff are being interviewed first, he said, adding that the investigation has not yet turned up a culprit.
"We have a great staff," Mahoney said, but he added that there are employees there with mental-health issues. "We have made it clear to the staff how serious this is."
