Two Sharon men are charged in robbery

SHARON, Pa. -- Two Sharon men are in jail accused of kidnapping a 19-year-old man and holding him hostage for money.
Leonard Williams, 37, of First Avenue, and Andrew McClearn, 19, of Elm Avenue, are both charged with kidnapping, robbery, false imprisonment and simple assault.
Both are in Mercer County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond. Sharon police said Williams saw the victim at George Street and Oakland Avenue at 8 p.m. Saturday, and Williams demanded money he was owed.
When the man refused to pay, Williams pulled a gun and forced the victim into his car, police said. They drove to McClearn's home where McClearn and Williams took $10 and cigarettes from the victim, police said.
They later made the victim call people to try to raise the money owed. One person agreed to meet the trio in Hermitage, police said. The victim's family caught wind of the meeting and showed up. Williams and McClearn ran off when confronted by the family, police said.
