New book will feature Poland Library

POLAND -- Poland Library will be among 80 libraries in the United States and Canada to be featured in an upcoming book: "Heart of the Community: Libraries We Love," by Berkshire Publishing Group of Great Barrington, Mass.
Janet Loew, communications and public relations director for the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, said Poland Library is one of two Ohio libraries chosen for the book. The other is a Cincinnati branch.
Loew said the announcement was made at the Public Library Association conference Wednesday.
The publishers said the selection process was difficult because all nominees made a strong case that their libraries were a powerful asset in their communities.
"With Poland Library, our aim was that the library would be a community gathering place," she said.
