Man in Mahoning County Jail on weapons charges

YOUNGSTOWN -- A man who police said tossed a loaded handgun out of a car window on Fairgreen Avenue was in Mahoning County Jail on $100,000 bond.
Leevaughn B. Toney Jr., 46, of Dean Street, was arraigned in municipal court Monday on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and weapons under disability.
He faces a preliminary hearing next Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Police said officers were on an investigation on Fairgreen Avenue around 2:30 p.m. Sunday and saw Toney leaving the area in a black car.
Officers said they saw him throw an object from the car in the 400 block of Fairgreen, moments before they stopped him in the 300 block.
Police recovered the object -- a loaded .22-caliber chrome-plated revolver.
Police had been called to the area earlier in the day to investigate a fight in which a man was alleged to have brandished a chrome-plated revolver at the owner of a home in the 400 block of Fairgreen.
