Luncheon, workshop to honor social workers

LIBERTY -- Karen Vadino, a Youngstown social worker, will present "Laughing: Just For The Health Of It" at a Thursday luncheon and workshop to honor social workers during Social Work Month, which is this month.
The luncheon and workshop, which has reached the maximum seating capacity of 104 and will leave some of the attending social workers and counselors standing, will be in the Belmont Pines Hospital gym, 615 Church Hill-Hubbard Road.
"I've turned about 40 [people] away," said David Watts, director of community education at Belmont Pines.
Belmont Pines Hospital, Youngstown State University's Department of Social Work and the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers Region 4 will host and sponsor the event to thank and recognize the accomplishments of local social workers.
