XYOUNGSTOWN -- Marlene Thorne and U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Christopher Orr were united in marriage Feb. 18 at St. Dominic Church by the Rev. Joseph Allen.
Afterward a reception was held in their honor at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Hall. They live at 4 Lusterleaf Court, No. 203, Stafford, Va.
Parents of the bride are Robert and Kathleen Thorne, 8128 Huxley Road, and the groom is a son of Thomas and Kathleen Orr, 16320 Heiser Road, all of Berlin Center.
The bride's strapless, mermaid-style gown of ivory lace was enhanced with pearls and sequins and featured a cathedral train.
Attendants for the bride were Regina Sanz and Michelle Stanec, who wore dark teal gowns, and Robert Thorne II, her brother, and Jamie McNaughton. Flower girl was Julianna Risler.
Best man was the groom's brother, Matthew Orr, and groomsmen were Jamie Bartek, Capt. Sunny Risler and the bride's brother, Joseph Thorne. Ushers were Marine Corps Lts. Chris Richmond, Kevin Kinkade, Michael Donlin, Alonzo Neese, Aaron Roy and Todd Nordman.
The bride graduated from DePaul University with a bachelor's degree in communications. Prior to her marriage she was employed in risk management with Alliant University in San Diego.
The groom earned a bachelor's degree in history and education at Bethany College. An active Marine since August 2003, he served in Iraqi Freedom II, including the Battle of Fallugah. He is stationed at Quantico, Va.
