GROVE CITY COLLEGE, GROVE CITY PA.
The Epsilon Pi fraternity sponsored the recent "Pie the Pis" fund-raising event on campus with the 30 members of the fraternity volunteering as targets for cream pies thrown in their faces. The event yielded $400. Half of the proceeds will be used to aid two members of the catering staff at Grove City College, one of whom recently lost a home to fire and another who was seriously injured in an automobile accident. The other half of the money will be used to support the Reading is Learning project sponsored by Mortar Board, which supplies books to Christian schools in Pittsburgh.

Two photography essays that appeared in The Collegian student newspaper during the 2004-05 academic year are among the winners of the 2006 Scholastic and Collegiate Keystone Press Awards, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association. First place in the Photo Story category went to Collegian Photography Editor Christine Bare, a 2005 graduate from Monroeville, for her photography in the "Bands Rock Arena" feature which ran in The Collegian on April 15, 2005. The Honorable Mention in that category went to Collegian Photography Editor Chelsea Cordell, a junior from High Point, N.C., for her photography in the "Low Temps, High Spirits" feature, which ran Jan. 28, 2005.
GROVE CITY COLLEGE, GROVE CITY, PA.
The college Forensics Team recently won the President's Cup, first prize in the "small schools' division in the Pennsylvania State Championship Forensics Tournament at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia. The team placed fifth among all schools.
WESTMINSTER COLLEGE, NEW WILMINGTON, PA.
David Peluso of Beaver Falls has been named assistant coordinator for administrative systems for the college's Information Systems Department. Peluso comes to Westminster from DCI Career Institute, where he was a computer instructor and corporate training coordinator since 2004. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida and a certificate in business applications programming from Computer Tech.
MOUNT UNION COLLEGE, ALLIANCE
Seniors Beth Bonanno of Canfield and John Highman of Canton won Outstanding Witness Awards for the defense in the recent 2006 Mock Trial Mideast Regional Tournament hosted by Notre Dame University (Indiana). They are members of Mount Union's Seminar in Political Science and Law class and were among 20 Mount Union students to compete.
OHIO NORTHERN UNIVERSITY, ADA
Emily D. Stanavich, daughter of Kathy Stone, Hilltop Drive, Poland, has been selected as a new member of the university's chapter of Mortar Board. a national senior honor society. She is a senior majoring in biology and is also active in the campus chapter of the Lion's Club, the women's soccer club, Beta Beta Beta biology honorary, the Professional Association of Women in Science, the Society of Medical Professions and Zeta Tau Alpha social sorority.
