East Canton reaches title game behind Sharp's 31 points

Berlin Hiland defeated Fort Loramie, 49-47.
COLUMBUS (AP) -- Caitlin Sharp scored 31 points, Katy Arick overcame a subpar shooting performance to hit the go-ahead jumper in overtime and East Canton held off Hamler Patrick Henry 65-63 in a Division IV state semifinal Thursday.
Arick, a first-team All-Ohioan who only shot 7-of-21 from the field, dropped in a short jumper from the right of the lane with 10 seconds remaining. Arick finished with 17 points, nine rebounds and six assists.
Patrick Henry rushed the ball across midcourt and had a few seconds left to shoot, but Jenna Inselmann's 25-foot 3-point attempt fell short as the buzzer sounded.
East Canton (24-2) advanced to a championship game matchup Saturday against Berlin Hiland. It's the first time the Wizards have made it this far since 1995, their only other trip to the state tournament when they lost the small-school championship game.
Patrick Henry forced overtime on Alison Meyer's 3-pointer with 13 seconds left in regulation. Tied at 56, Sharp shot an airball on a 3-point attempt at the buzzer.
The Patriots went scoreless over the final two minutes of overtime after Danielle Collins hit a 3-pointer for a 63-62 lead.
Stacie Coressel led Patrick Henry with 20 points and added eight rebounds. Meyer had 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Collins added 15 points.
Karris Kandel had 14 points, nine rebounds and six assists for East Canton.
