Green ice will welcome SteelHounds opponents

The minor-league hockey team will honor St. Patrick's Day.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown SteelHounds play host to the Colorado Eagles on St. Patrick's Day weekend and have announced several promotions for the games Friday and Saturday.
Game time for both contests is 7:05 p.m.
Throughout the weekend, the ice at the Chevrolet Centre will be colored green and the SteelHounds will be wearing special St. Patrick's Day jerseys to be auctioned off following Saturday's game.
The visit to the Valley will be the first for the Eagles, the defending Central Hockey League champions. Colorado (40-12-6) has the best record in the CHL this season.
Other promotions for the weekend include a St. Patrick's Family Getaway Contest Friday night and Scout Night Saturday. The family getaway contest will feature a drawing that will reward the winner with four free airline tickets to Orlando.
Pot of gold
There will be a "chuck-o-puck" pot-of-gold both nights, shamrock button giveaway and St. Patty's Day beads along with face painters for both games.
Corporate sponsor for the weekend is WFMJ television, which is partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank for two separate drives.
Friday night fans that bring two canned food items will receive a voucher for a free ticket to the SteelHounds game March 22.
On Saturday, it is Big 106 Cheesy Noisemaker Night, which encourages fans to bring a box of macaroni and cheese to use as a noisemaker and donate to Second Harvest Food Bank after the game. Participating fans will receive a voucher for a free ticket to the SteelHounds game March 22.
Tickets are available by calling 1-866-4-GETTIX or visiting gettix.net, or at the Chevrolet Centre box office.
