Beaver trustees appoint 2 to board

NORTH LIMA -- Beaver Township trustees made two new appointments Tuesday to the indemnity board that represents families of firefighters killed in the line of duty.
David Dickey and Jack Crouse were appointed to the board as township designees. The board is made up of five members including two township designees and two representatives from the fire department. The fire department representatives are Larry Saverwein and Barney Davison.
A fifth board member is to be appointed by the other four members. That appointment is to be made later this month, officials said.
The township fire department has nearly 30 paid volunteer firefighters. They are paid for each emergency call they respond to.
In other matters, the trustees accepted the resignation of reserve police officer William McGuire, who left the department to accept a position elsewhere.
