hStalker ordered away
TUCSON, Ariz. -- A Colorado man accused of stalking Linda Ronstadt for nearly a decade has been ordered by an Arizona judge to stay away from the singer.
Ronstadt has upcoming concerts and fears for her safety because of Bernie Salazar Ortiz's history of stalking her and his mental illness, court documents indicate. Ortiz has schizophrenia, Tucson authorities have said.
Judge John Davis issued a preliminary injunction against Ortiz at the request of Ronstadt's attorneys.
The injunction says Ortiz cannot appear at any of Ronstadt's concerts, come within 1,000 feet of her or contact her in person -- by phone or in writing. He also can't deliver, directly or indirectly, any cards, packages, flowers or other items.
Ortiz pleaded guilty to attempted stalking in May 1998 and received probation, but he was sent to prison for violating the probation.
Once Ortiz was released from prison in November 1999, he continued to write unwanted letters to the singer through her siblings and showed up at one of her Sun City, Ariz., concerts in May 2000, documents say.
Ronstadt, a native of Tucson, is known for hit albums such as "What's New," "Heart Like a Wheel" and "Simple Dreams."

Crowes to have 2nd son
BURBANK, Calif. -- Russell Crowe and his wife are expecting a boy.
The "Gladiator" star told Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" on Friday that he and his wife, actress Danielle Spencer, are expecting the baby in June or July. They had previously announced the pregnancy, but not the baby's gender.
They already have a 2-year-old son, Charlie.
Crowe said he would be in the delivery room with a video camera when the baby is born.
Lydon targets harassers
LOS ANGELES -- Sex Pistols lead singer John Lydon says harassing fans, such as those who threw bottles at the band at a Danish music festival, are "the very people we hate the most."
Lydon, known as Johnny Rotten in the iconic British '70s punk band, also panned animal activists and the anti-abortion movement during his appearance Friday on bandmate Steve Jones' radio show, called "Jonesy's Jukebox."
"We're Sex Pistols; we ain't fake," said Lydon, reminiscent of the band's snarling late bassist, Sid Vicious.
"And we don't care," Jones replied.
Later on, Lydon reflected on the band's heyday, quick breakup and 1996 world reunion tour, but said he couldn't do it again, citing stage fright and infighting.
"I miss the Sex Pistols. I miss the lot of you," he said. "But if anybody thinks it's a jolly good wheeze, it's not. It's hard work."
