Teams forming for Relay for Life



The event spotlights cancer survivors and raises funds.
CANFIELD -- Teams are being formed for 2006 American Cancer Society's Relay For Life events in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.
The Relay For Life events spotlight cancer survivors and raise raises funds so the ACS can continue to invest in research, education, advocacy and patient services, said Al Stabilito, Eastern Ohio public relations director of the American Cancer Society.
During the relays, conducted on a Friday and Saturday during May, June and early July, teams of 10 to 15 walk or run around a track or designated area.
Contests, entertainment, games, food and other activities are held during each event, which lasts 18 to 24 hours.
The dates and locations of this year's Relay For Life events:
Youngstown: April 7-8, Youngstown State University's Beeghly Center.
Niles: May 5-6, Niles McKinley High School, Bo Rein Stadium.
Warren: May 12-13, Warren City Courthouse Square.
Boardman: May 12-13, Boardman Center Middle School, Spartan Stadium.
Liberty: May 19-20, Liberty High School, Leopard Stadium.
East Liverpool: June 2-3, East Liverpool Schools, Frank J. Mangano Memorial Track.
Sebring: June 9-10, Sebring High School Stadium.
Cortland: June 9-10, Lakeview High School Stadium.
Salem: June 16-17, Salem Schools, Reilly Football Stadium.
Austintown: June 16-17, Austintown Fitch High School, Falcon Stadium.
Springfield: June 16-17, Springfield High School football stadium
Campbell: June 23-24, Roosevelt Park.
Lordstown: June 23-24, Lordstown High School.
Lisbon: June 23-24, D.W. Dickey & amp; Son, Dickey Drive.
Columbiana: July 7-8, Crestview Football Field.
