Eagle award
Joshua Paul Miles, son of Richard and Charlotte Seaman, Berlin Center, received his Eagle Scout award, Boy Scouting's highest honor, at a court-of-honor ceremony Feb. 26.
Miles is a member of Boy Scout Troop 71 of Ellsworth & amp; Berlin Center, Greater Western Reserve Council, Whispering Pines District. His Scoutmaster is Lee Hawkins.
He has earned 28 merit badges and attended the Philmont Scout Ranch in 2005, where he was a crew leader. For his Eagle service project, Miles constructed the sign at the Ellsworth Cemetery. His hobbies are weightlifting, music and playing his guitar.
He is a senior at Western Reserve High School, Berlin Center, and plans to attend the University of Toledo in the fall majoring in electrical engineering.
Wapashuwi officers
The Lodge Executive Committee of Wapashuwi Lodge 56, Order of the Arrow, Greater Western Reserve Council, Boy Scouts of America, recently elected its officers at the 2006 winter banquet at Camp Chickagami in Parkman.
The LEC is the governing body of youth officers for the lodge. Lodge chief is James Woodworth, a senior at Struthers High School and a member of Troop 101 in Struthers; executive vice chief is Joshua Bodnar, a sophomore at Youngstown State University and enrolled in the University Scholar and Honors programs, and member of Troop 71 in Ellsworth Township; secretary is Matt Manupella, a senior at Conneaut High School, Conneaut, and a member of Troop 531 in Ashtabula; and treasurer is Alex Gabriele, a sophomore at Boardman High School and a member of Troop 60 in Boardman.
Wapashuwi Lodge consists of four chapters, which represents units in the Scouting council's four districts. The districts serve youth in Mahoning, Trumbull, Portage, Ashtabula, Geauga and Lake counties.
