West Branch, Wellsville boys eliminated



CANTON -- Top-ranked and unbeaten Wooster Triway eliminated West Branch from the boys Division II district tournament at the Canton Memorial Fieldhouse, 65-52, Wednesday night.
Jock Rottman scored 16 points and had eight rebounds, both team-highs, to lead the Titans (22-0). Jeff McCartney added 15 points and Linc Rottman scored 14.
The Warriors (16-6), who led 32-29 at halftime, were paced by Kyle Rockwell, with 18 points, Shane Young with 13 and Andy Pappas with 10. Young also had 10 rebounds.
Triway will play Canton South in the district championship game Saturday night. South defeated Canal Fulton Northwest, 49-39, in Wednesday's first game.
Zanesville Rosecrans 59,Wellsville 53
BYESVILLE -- Wellsville battled back in the second half, but its rally fell just short in a Div. IV district semifinal.
Dan Miller had 16 points for Rosecrans (10-13), which led 28-16 at halftime before the Tigers (19-4) rallied to within a point in the final quarter.
Joe Dalton added 15 points for Rosecrans, which will play Berlin Hiland Saturday in the district final. Jerod Yakubik and Cody Kirkpatrick added 10 points each.
Wellsville was led by Zach Welch with 18 points and Zane Carter with 16.
