"The Unit" (9 p.m., CBS): After watching Kiefer Sutherland hunt down bad guys for years on "24," Dennis Haysbert finally gets to do some action-hero stuff himself in "The Unit." Created by famed writer David Mamet, it focuses on a team of elite special operatives who carry out secret missions all around the world. The fine cast also includes Scott Foley, Regina Taylor and Robert Patrick.
"Sons & amp; Daughters" (9 p.m., ABC): This just might be the best ABC sitcom in years, but that's not saying much given the network's recent comedy track record. Partly scripted and partly improvised, it introduces us to the highly messed-up members of a sprawling, extended family, who tend to have some hysterical interactions. Of course, the Bluths of "Arrested Development" were pretty messed up and hysterical, too, and look where it got them.
