Oilers 3, Predators 2, OT
EDMONTON, Alberta -- Chris Pronger got Edmonton even in the third period and then won it with a goal 4:17 into overtime. Pronger netted both goals on the power play as Edmonton used three man-advantage tallies to win its second straight following a four-game losing streak. Scottie Upshall had a power-play goal, and Paul Kariya also scored for the Predators, who lost their seventh straight road game. The Oilers took a season-high 42 shots on Tomas Vokoun, including 19 in the second period. Edmonton tied it at 1 in the first period when Ales Hemsky made a crisp pass to set up Ryan Smyth's team-leading 28th goal, his 15th on the power play.
Stars 7, Blackhawks 2
CHICAGO -- Jason Arnott scored twice and Jere Lehtinen and Brenden Morrow each had a goal and two assists as Dallas extended its unbeaten streak against Chicago to 13. The Stars haven't lost to Chicago since Jan. 20, 2002, going 11-0-2 against the Blackhawks during the span. Jussi Jokinen, Niklas Hagman and Martin Skoula also scored for the Stars. Marty Turco made 18 saves. Mark Bell and Rene Bourque scored for Chicago.
Wild 5, Avalanche 3
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Marian Gaborik's short-handed goal in the third period helped Minnesota beat Colorado. Wes Walz, who set up Gaborik's goal, scored twice and defenseman Nick Schultz and Brian Rolston also scored. Wild coach Jacques Lemaire earned his 400th NHL win. Alex Tanguay had three assists for the Avalanche, who lost for the second time in two nights.
