Pony sale set at fairgrounds
CANFIELD -- The Mahoning Valley Pony Breeders' Association will hold its annual Spring Sale on April 22 at the Canfield Fairgrounds.
Robin Adams, club vice president and sale chairman, said that the sale will be in the new cattle arena at the south end of the fairgrounds. New tack will begin selling at 9:30 a.m.; used tack will sell at 1 p.m., with ponies and horses selling at 4 p.m.
The club has selected S & amp;C Tack of Ravenna as its tack vendor, Adams said.
To consign a pony or horse for the sale, call Adams at (330) 547-8816 or Sam Mathias at (330) 831-1065. The deadline is April 15. There is no fee.
A negative Coggins test must be current and must accompany the horse or pony on the day of the sale, Adams said. Any pony or horse that is brought to the sale on April 22 and has not been previously consigned will be sold after all others have been sold and will not be listed in the sale catalog.
