Police identify pedestrian hit by car in Liberty

LIBERTY -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Saturday that Juan Berrios, 48, of Youngstown, was the pedestrian who was killed in a traffic accident at 9:55 p.m. Friday on Belmont Avenue.
The Warren Post of the patrol said Donna K. Garcia, 47, of Niles, was driving north in the right lane when Berrios attempted to cross the five-lane road. Garcia's car hit him and knocked him to the side of the road. Berrios was not immediately identified.
The patrol said Berrios was dressed in dark clothing and tried to cross the road in a dark area. Berrios was pronounced dead at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
