'Glory Train' event
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Tabernacle Education Assistance Ministry of Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Arlington St., will present the third annual "Glory Train" under the direction of Lois Thornton and Freddie Boyd. St. Joseph novena
NORTH JACKSON -- The National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 N. Lipkey Road, will conduct a St. Joseph novena at 7 p.m. March 11-19. After the novena, St. Joseph's bread will be blessed and distributed to those in attendance.
Afternoon of spirituality
HOWLAND -- The Benedictine Sisters of the Byzantine Church at Queen of Heaven Monastery, 8640 Squires Lane N.E., will offer an afternoon of spirituality from 1-5 p.m. March 18. Monsignor George Appleyard, pastor of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Carnegie, Pa., will speak on "The Gospel of Paul for the Days of Lent." The sacrament of reconciliation will be available. Lenten mission program
WARREN -- The Rev. James P. Walker, pastor of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church and chaplain at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital, will present "The Passion According to the Gospel of Mark" during a Lenten mission program at St. Pius X Church, 1401 Moncrest N.W. Sessions, scheduled from 7-8 p.m., will be "Wounded Society" on March 12, "Passion of Church" on March 13 and "People and Believers" on March 14. Sam Trina and Chuck Jaskiewicz will provide music. The sacrament of reconciliation will be offered after each mission. Refreshments and fellowship will follow in the social hall.
Programs for Lent
MINERAL RIDGE -- First Presbyterian Church of Mineral Ridge, 3654 Main St., will offer "Life on the Edge of Faith" programs Wednesdays during Lent. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. in fellowship hall followed by a brief worship service. The dinners and services are family-oriented events; child care will not be provided. At 7:30, the Rev. Mark Phillips will lead a Bible study and discussion, "God's Love in Jesus," focusing on the events in the last week of Jesus' life. Portions of Franco Zefirelli's award-winning film, "Jesus of Nazareth," will be shown.
Mass and rosary
YOUNGSTOWN -- On March 15, the Diocesan Infant Jesus of Prague will hold its monthly rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 at Sacred Heart Church, 400 Lincoln Park Drive.
Program for children
BOARDMAN -- "Walking with Jesus," a Lenten program for children from 3 years old through fifth grade, is planned from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesdays from March 8 through April 5, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive. Registration fee is $5. The lessons will combine different styles of shoes of people who walk with Jesus and Bible verses. The sessions include a light supper.
Book discussion
YOUNGSTOWN -- Parishioners and friends of St. John's Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., will meet to discuss the book "The Soul of Christianity" at 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Lent in the parlor of the parish house.
Spring revival
YOUNGSTOWN -- New Hope Baptist Church, 437 Albert St., will present "Taking Back Our Youth" spring revival. The observance will begin with a service at 6 p.m. March 12 with guest speaker the Rev. Jonathan Tucker Sr., founder of New Birth Community Church, New Albany, Miss. Services will be at 7 p.m. March 13-16.
Lenten lunch series
BOARDMAN -- St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Drive, will hold "Lunch While You Learn" Lenten series from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesdays in St. Mark Room. Participants should take their own lunches; beverages will be provided. Programs scheduled are: "Our Sister Parish and Community" by El Salvador Mission Team, Wednesday; "Strengthening the Parish Community" by the Rev. Nicholas Shori of St. Paul's Church, New Middletown, March 15; topic to be announced by the Rev. YOUNGSTOWN -- A service of healing is planned at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave. Participants may receive a healing prayer or Communion.

CAMPBELL -- Faith Temple Baptist Church, 125 Roosevelt Drive, will show the film, "Heaven's Gate and Hell's Flame," at 4 p.m. March 12.
Marriage conference
