Bobalik picked for first team
Beaver Local's Mallory Yajko was named to the girls Div. II second team.

Andrew Bobalik, who averaged 25.8 points per game for East Liverpool, was named boys Division II first team Eastern All-District.
Bobalik's teammates, Joey Wines and Jon Montgomery, were named honorable mention, along with Beaver Local's Ethan Russell.
In Div. IV, Wellsville had four players honored. Josh Lyle, a 6-4 senior who averaged 16.3 points per game, was named second team, while senior Zach Welch, who averaged 14.6 points per game, was named third team. Zane Carter and Anthony Ross were named honorable mention.
Nearly 40 points
Nate Davis, who averaged 38.9 points per game for Bellaire, was among the individual award winners.
Davis, a senior, was named Div. III player of the year. He averaged 15.7 rebounds per game this season and has scored 2,455 career points in his career -- most in school history. He's the first Ohio player to have 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career, according to OHSAA records.
The other boys award winners were senior Andy Kilgore of Dresden Tri-Valley in Div. II (19.6 points per game) and Nick Hershberger, a senior from Div. IV New Philadelphia Tuscarawas Central Catholic (20.5).
Co-coaches of the year in Div. II were Greg Vaughn of Zanesville Maysville, Don Vogt of Cambridge and Bob Von Kaenel of Dover. In Div. III, Gary Offenberger of Magnolia Sandy Valley and Gene Ammirante of Bellaire shared the award. The Div. IV honoree was Ed Andes of Shadyside.

Kat Ammon of East Liverpool was named to the third team and teammate Heather Evans was named honorable mention. Alex Smith of Beaver Local was also named honorable mention.
The girls co-players of the year in the Div. II were Kristin Daugherty of Warsaw River View (6-1, junior, 18.9) and Liz Repella of Steubenville (5-10, junior, 27.5). Bellaire's Ashley Vavrek, a 5-8 senior that averaged 28.0 points per game, was Div. III player of the year. Lindsay Stuckey of Berlin Hiland (5-8, senior, 19.2) was the Div. IV honoree.
The girls co-coaches of the year in Div. II were Caroline Daugherty of River View, Angie Forte of Steubenville and Dick Haines of Philo. Sarahsville Shenandoah coach Amber Ellison was the Div. III winner and Chad Shawger of Zanesville Rosecrans was the Div. IV honoree.
