Motorcyclist injured in collision with car
BEAVER, Pa. -- An East Liverpool, Ohio, man was taken to UPMC Health Center, Pittsburgh, after his motorcycle struck a car in Hanover Township.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, Beaver Station, Daniel Painter was riding his motorcycle west on U.S. 30, approaching Pennsylvania Route 18 when the crash occurred around 4 p.m. Thursday.
Police said Thomas Shearer of Sewickley, Pa., was stopped at a stop sign on Route 18 north, waiting to cross U.S. 30. Police said Shearer did not see Painter approaching and pulled into the intersection.
Painter tried to brake to avoid a collision but struck the side of Shearer's car.
Police said Painter was wearing a helmet and was conscious and alert after the crash. Shearer was not injured.
No other information was available at press time.
