Man indicted in son's injuries

WARREN -- A 21-year-old Warren man is indicted on charges of endangering children and felonious assault in connection with injuries his 7-month-old son suffered last month.
David T. Smith Sr., 21, with addresses on North Road and Belle Street Southwest, was indicted by a Trumbull County grand jury on the two felony charges.
Smith is to be arraigned Thursday before Judge John M. Stuard of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.
Smith pleaded innocent to the child endangering charge in Warren Municipal Court in May. He remains in the Trumbull County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bond.
Warren Detective Michael Currington has said the baby had head injuries and a broken arm, and had bite marks on his body, after being injured in his home. Smith said he accidentally bit the child, the detective said.
The boy was taken to Akron Children's Hospital, where he was later released.
Meanwhile, Richard L. Hadden, 54, with addresses on Karl Avenue and Dover Avenue Southwest, is indicted on charges of rape, kidnapping and grand theft of a motor vehicle.
Warren police arrested Hadden after a 31-year-old city woman reported that he had tried to force her to have sex in a residence on Bonnie Brae Avenue on May 2 , then fled in her car.
Hadden remains in Trumbull County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
