Junior women's league officers accept posts



The assigning of various positions also highlighted the league meeting.
CANFIELD -- Canfield Junior Women's League installed officers for the 2006-2007 term during a meeting held June 22 at the Stockyard Restaurant.
Judy Buck, outgoing president, conducted the induction of Deana Tareshawty as the new president of the organization.
A member since 2001, Tareshawty has served as first vice president and chaired the Juniorettes, public affairs, nominations and picture sales. She has also served as club historian and on the bike parade and social committees. She lives in Canfield with her husband, Craig, and their three children.
Executive officers
Seated as her associate officers were: Rhonda Barber, first vice president; Danielle Strock, second vice president; Diane Smythe, corresponding secretary; Sue Ramdin, recording secretary; Chris Jickess, treasurer, and Buck, parliamentarian.
Named to head various departments were: Sue Miller, conservation; Cari Needs, home life; Buck, education; Maria Rotunno, fine arts; Barber, international; and Barb McGrath, public affairs
Chosen as heads of standing committees were: Ann Liller, constitution; Jickess, finance; Needs, nomination; Rita Peters, cookbook sales; Rotunno, federation; Karen Pavlansky, historian and social; Strock, publicity; Sue Miller, telephone; and Barber and Debby Shattuck, ways and means.
Serving as chairmen of special projects will be: Sue Janca, community chest; McGrath, First Night Canfield; Gloria Aey and McGrath, Juniorettes; Strock and Needs, Relay for Life; and Miller and Shattuck, fall market.
Aey was also named head of the bloodbank committee, and Strock and Ramdin will be in charge of the yearbook.
Barber was named the Outstanding Member of the Year.
Tentative plans were made for the league's 37th annual fall market on Sept. 16 at the Village Green and for its second annual wine and cheese taste to be held in February 2007.
