Chemical thrown in argument hurts several

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (AP) -- Several people, including a child, were injured early Thursday by a chemical thrown during an argument in an apartment complex parking lot, police said.
Six to eight people were hurt, police Capt. Thomas Hewitt said. Some suffered chemical burns and others inhaled the substance, which has been sent to a lab to be identified.
David W. Howard Jr., 29, of South Salem, was charged with two counts of felonious assault after witnesses told police he threw the liquid onto others about 3:07 a.m., Hewitt said.
Police found items used to make methamphetamine in a car parked near the apartment building. The car belonged to someone who was involved in the matter but was not arrested, Hewitt said.
Names and conditions of the injured were not available. Hewitt said some were hospitalized, including two who were taken to the burn center at the Ohio State University Medical Center.
Chillicothe is about 45 miles south of Columbus.
