YOUNGSTOWN -- The Terry Barrett Band, which offers an original mix of Latin rock, reggae, afropop, ska, calypso, cajun and funk, will be at Youngstown Maennerchor's backdoor stage at 8 p.m. July 15. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. The Maennerchor is at 831 Mahoning Ave. Parking is available behind the club on Marshall Street. Call (330) 747-5405 for tickets and information. Blige concert canceled
PITTSBURGH -- Live Nation announced Tuesday that the Mary J. Blige concert scheduled at Post-Gazette Pavilion on July 26 has been canceled.
Tickets that have already been purchased will be refunded at the point of purchase.
Nature programlooks at night life
A state park program takes a look at the "Night Life of Beaver Creek and Guilford Lake State Parks."
The colors, shapes and sheer numbers of bugs in the parks -- and your backyard -- every night is impressive. This event will introduce goers to the insects that venture out only under the cover of darkness. Using a variety a techniques such as bug lighting, pit traps and baiting, park naturalists will try to lure the large variety of insects that inhabit the area. Park naturalist and entomologist Andy Varsho will identify the insects.
This event is being held on two nights, as the different park habitats will provide different insects: Saturday at the Red Barn in Beaver Creek State Park and Sunday at the campground at Guilford Lake State Park. Beatles tribute band
WARREN -- On Friday, the Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County will offer the first of nine Summer Night Special programs. This week features Get Back, a local Beatles tribute band. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. in Courthouse Park in downtown Warren. The programs are free and open to the public.
Get Back features Marty Cohen as Ringo Starr, Mark Hoffman as Paul McCartney, Mark Pringle as George Harrison and Scott Krejci as John Lennon. The group will offer two 50-minute sets and make two costume changes to span the entire career of The Beatles.
