XCAMPBELL -- A reception was held May 27 at Avion on the Water in Canfield to honor Steve Stroney and his bride, the former Lisa Merrell, following their wedding at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph the Provider Church.
The Rev. Michael Swierz officiated for the daughter of Barry and Gloria Merrell, 100 Laurel Hills Lane, Canfield, and the son of Leonard and Marilou Stroney, 5029 Tippwood Court, Boardman.
The couple spent their honeymoon in Hawaii.
The bride's strapless, A-line gown of white kisaki and Chantilly lace featured a modified sweetheart neckline and a pleated back, and was enhanced with embroidery and beading.
Ice-pink gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Jennifer McCauley, and the bridesmaids, Sarah Stroney, the groom's sister; Stacy Merrell, the bride's sister-in-law; Melanie Farina and Tracy Melfi, her cousins; Lori Toro; and Meghan Sambroak. Junior bridesmaid was the bride's niece, Ashlyn Merrell.
Best man was the groom's cousin Mathew Marshall, and groomsman were David Marshall, his cousin; Brad Merrell, the bride's brother; Michael Klingensmith; T.J. Smith; John Leslie; Paul Thayer; Edgar Mosco; and Rick Mosco.
The bride graduated magna cum laude with a master's degree in occupational therapy from Gannon University. She is an occupational therapist with Briarfield Manor, Austintown. The groom earned a bachelor's in mechanical engineering technology at Youngstown State University and is serving in the U.S. Air Force.
