Following is a listing of fireworks displays, parades, concerts and other Independence Day celebrations:
COLUMBIANA COUNTY
East Palestine: Events at city park Tuesday include: Breakfast at community center, 8 a.m.; pet parade, 10 a.m.; bike parade, 12:30 p.m.; games for all ages, 2 p.m.; duck derby, 4 p.m.; basketball free throw event, 5:15 p.m.; party at pool with music and games, 9 p.m.
Salem: At 1:45 p.m. Tuesday a pet parade sponsored by Salem Memorial and Patriotic Association will take place on South Broadway Avenue.
MAHONING COUNTY
Austintown: A religious service begins at 8:30 a.m. at Austin Log Cabin on Raccoon Road. The parade forms at the Big Lots parking lot on Raccoon Road. The parade goes down Raccoon Road and ends up at Fitch High School. Fireworks will be at dusk at Fitch High stadium.
Boardman: The Ohio National Guard Band will perform Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Maag Theatre, Boardman Township Park. Bring lawn chairs. Concessions available.
Campbell: Campbell City Fest will be at Roosevelt Park from Friday through Sunday. A parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Campbell City Hall followed by a polka Mass at 1 p.m. Entertainment for that day includes Libby and the Tamburitzans and No Way Out. Sunday events will conclude with fireworks at 10 p.m. Every day during the festival there will be rides, games and food.
Canfield: Canfield Community fireworks and military tribute will be Saturday at Canfield Fairgrounds, sponsored by Rotary Club of Canfield and Harley-Davidson of Youngstown. The gates will open at 5 p.m. Admission is $10 per vehicle (current military families will be admitted free of charge). It will feature children's activities, concessions, displays and entertainment. There will be a grandstand show at 7 p.m. featuring a military program, motorcycle stunt show and The Great Pretenders. Admission is $5 per person, free for military in uniform and pupils under 16 years old. A Harley-Davidson Sportster Motorcycle winner will be announced at 9:30 p.m. Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Ohio Military Injured Relief Fund and Rotary Club of Canfield "Service Above Self" projects. The parade will be Tuesday, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Canfield Fairgrounds. It ends up on the Village Green.
Poland: The Poland Firemen's Association will have its Independence Day Celebration on Friday at the Baird Mitchell field behind town hall. The event will start at 7 p.m. with a parade and end at dusk with fireworks. Throughout the evening there will be music from DJ Tony Tonite, food and festivities. There is no admission fee.
Youngstown: A fireworks display will be at 10 p.m. Tuesday. The fireworks will be fired from outside the B & amp;O Station Banquet Hall off Mahoning Avenue. People are asked to watch the display from other downtown locations.
Youngstown: Youngstown Historical Center, 151 W. Wood St., will be open from noon to 5 p.m. They will show a video on Idora Park and Mill Creek Park. There will be special discounts on selected gift items and free goody bags for children.
TRUMBULL COUNTY
Howland: 5K Stars and Stripes run and walk sponsored by St. Joseph Health Center at 8 a.m. Tuesday at Howland High School stadium. Forms are available at YMCA & amp; YWCA (Warren and Niles), St. Elizabeth Health Center, St. Joseph Urgent Care, Jen's Total Fitness and the Township Administration building.
The parade will be at 10 a.m. The parade line-up will be numerically assigned with numbers being distributed at 8:30 a.m. in Hunter's Square Plaza, East Market Street. Sign-up forms are available at the township administration building, 205 Niles-Cortland Road. Decorated bikes are welcome and will line up at 9:30 a.m. in the Cord Camera parking lot (East Market Street). All biking participants will receive a prize.
11 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be games, entertainment, face painting, food, music by Top Notes, Take II and Samantha Touarti at the corner of Willow Drive and East Market Street.
There will also be a pet parade at noon with prizes for the cutest, smartest, best dressed, best behaved and most unusual. Call Rachael Hunt at (330) 856-2340 for questions or to be part of the parade and festivities. Parade and activities are sponsored by the Howland Township Trustees.
Niles: Downtown Street Fest runs from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Tuesday. A parade will begin at 7 p.m. Friday followed by music by Frank Gallo. Concessions, games and rides will be available each day, with bingo at the Niles Senior Center. On Saturday, music will be provided from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. by the John Ruman Band and by Road Work from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Fireworks display at 10 p.m. Saturday.
David Lee Roth concert at 7 p.m. Monday at Eastwood Field. Fireworks will follow.
Warren: The Packard Music Hall and Convention Center will hold a fireworks display Tuesday. The display will immediately follow an 8 p.m. concert by the W.D. Packard Band.
Newton Falls: Lions Carnival Friday through Tuesday. Entertainment nightly: Friday, Battle of the Bands, 6 p.m. to midnight; Saturday, live entertainment, 4 to 7 p.m., Bancroft, 8 p.m. to midnight; Sunday, live entertainment, 4 to 7 p.m., Wicked, 8 to 11 p.m.; Monday, Tea Bags (British Band), 7 to 11 p.m.; Tuesday, live entertainment, 3 to 5 p.m., Outlaw Cloggers, 4 to 5 p.m., Bluegrass Band, 5 to 7 p.m. and Class Reunion, 7 to 10 p.m.
There will be a parade at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Frank Marzullo from 21 Action News as the grand marshal. The parade will include free balloons (while supplies last) sponsored by Spahlinger Insurance and Buckeye Welding, and a military flyover. There will be a third drawing in the cash giveaway at 9 p.m., and fireworks will be at 10 p.m. 3-D glasses will be for sale sponsored by Arby's and the Fourth of July Festivities Committee. This celebration is part of Newton Falls bicentennial celebration.
