2 teenagers face charges of criminal damage

HOWLAND - Two teenage boys are charged in Trumbull County Juvenile Court with 10 counts each of criminal damage for using a slingshot to shoot marbles at homes.
The boys are 16 and 17 years old, but records of where they live are not available.
The teens were among five taken into custody June 21 at state Route 46 and East Market Street after police spotted a green Chevrolet Blazer suspected of being used in the vandalism.
A search of the vehicle found a "wrist rocket," a powerful slingshot, and 66 small white marblelike projectiles that are similar to the ones that caused the damage.
According to the police report, the 16-year-old admitted to police that he and the other boy used the slingshot to cause the damage over two days. The 17-year-old refused to cooperate, police reported.
