Cage fighting
NILES -- Ricco Acevedo of Boardman is expected to get another shot at cage fighting after winning his inaugural bout during an International Fighting and Boxing League match at the Eastwood Expo Center.

The 5-9, 200-pound Acevedo, who is 1-0 as a professional boxer, hadn't previously fought cage-style. He stepped in and hit Bobeck, a kickboxer, with a left hook. That's when Acevedo jumped on top and pounded his opponent until winning at 0:37 of the first round of the heavyweight battle.
Acevedo's trainer, Larry Filer, said that Acevedo's next cage fight is scheduled for August 19, either at the Expo Center or at Eastwood Field.
