Church to build expansion hall

AUSTINTOWN -- Abundant Harvest Church, 104 Idlewood Drive, is adding a 40-by-60-foot fellowship hall at a projected cost of $285,264.
The Rev. JoAnn Pangio, who has been pastor for four years, said about $50,000 is earmarked for water-retention measures in the parking lot area. "We want it to be for the benefit of our neighbors and the church," she said.
The fellowship hall will have a kitchen, restrooms and a large meeting room, where a Sunday morning class for teen-agers is being planned.
The cost is being funded mostly by donations from members and a loan. Plans for the structure have been in the works for about a year and a half. "We hope to break ground any day now or by the middle of July," the Rev. Mrs. Pangio said. "It should take about three months to complete."
There are about 70 members of the church, which is nondenominational and affiliated with Abundant Ministries headed by Dr. Michael Pangio. He is the husband of the pastor.
Mrs. Pangio said Abundant Harvest has been at the Austintown location for about seven years; previously the church was known as Faith Chapel and was in Youngstown. The Abundant Harvest building itself has housed churches for some 40 years.
