"Blade" (10 p.m., Spike TV): Under the shroud of night, "Blade" leaps from the big screen to the small one. This new series chronicling the adventures of the half-human/half-vampire hunter is a follow-up to the successful film series of recent years. In those, Wesley Snipes starred. For the TV version, Kirk Jones has the title role. "The show takes place after the three movies, and it does not contradict what happened in those," says executive producer David Goyer. "But we have structured the stories in such a way that you didn't have to see the movies to know what's going on." Blade originally appeared in the pages of Marvel Comics. "Blade" the series will focus on the title character's ongoing battle with a cartel of vampires bent on destroying humans.
"No Direction Home" (9 p.m., PBS): If you missed its initial airing, now's the time to catch "No Direction Home." It's director Martin Scorsese's extraordinary two-part documentary about Bob Dylan that focuses on the rock icon's early musical explorations via rare archival footage and absorbing interviews.
"My First Time" (10 p.m., TV Land): In this new six-part series, veteran television stars go down memory lane to dish about how they got their first big break in the business. The opener features Henry Winkler ("Happy Days") and Katey Sagal ("Married With Children" and "8 Simple Rules").
"Shark: Mind of a Demon" (8 p.m., CBS): Fabien Cousteau, whose grandfather Jacques was renowned for his underwater adventures, wanted to learn about great white sharks from their point of view. With the help of design engineer and animatronics expert Eddie Paul, Cousteau built a shark-shaped submarine, complete with three cameras, monitors and control mechanisms. The sub ferried Cousteau off the coast of Mexico's Baja California and other locations for the documentary, which was made available online earlier this year.
