Shock 71, Sting 61
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Deanna Nolan tied a team record by scoring 20 of her 26 points in the second half as the Detroit Shock came from behind. Detroit (9-4) trailed by as many as nine points before rallying for its fifth straight win, a streak that started in Charlotte. The Sting (2-13) have lost seven straight. The Shock are now 6-0 at home this year, while Charlotte is 0-5 on the road. Nolan matched Ruth Riley's team record of 20 points in a half. Swin Cash and Cheryl Ford added 13 each for Detroit. Tammy Sutton-Brown led the Sting with 15 points before leaving in the final minute after getting hit in the face during a collision with Ford and a teammate. Sutton-Brown said she was OK after the game. Nolan outscored the Sting 20-18 in the first 13 minutes of the second half.
Mystics 87, Sun 80
WASHINGTON -- Chasity Melvin had a season-high 25 points and 10 rebounds to help keep the Mystics unbeaten at home.
Four Washington (8-5) players scored in double figures as the Mystics snapped a two-game slide and won their seventh in a row at home. They also ended the Connecticut's (10-4) three-game winning streak. Nikki Teasley, who scored four points in the final 1:37, finished with 16 points and five assists.
Comets 84, Storm 74
HOUSTON -- Tina Thompson scored 21 points and Sheryl Swoopes added 19 to pace the Comets. Swoopes scored 11 points in the fourth quarter to help the Comets (10-5) win their seventh straight home game. Betty Lennox scored a game-high 29 points for the Storm (7-8), who fell to 3-5 on the road and 0-2 against the Comets this season.
Lauren Jackson added 14 points for Seattle.
