MCDONALD Woodland Park books summer activities



Movies are shown in the park every Tuesday night.
McDONALD -- The McDonald Woodland Park summer schedule features movies, concerts and daily and weekly activities for village residents.
The park pool will open at 11:30 a.m. on weekdays, weather permitting.
Park crafts will take place Fridays at 11 a.m. Crafts include projects from picture frames to potted flowers.
Story Time Mondays will be at the park pavilion at 11 a.m. Mondays starting today and continuing through July 24.
Summer Adult Volleyball will begin today and run Mondays and Wednesdays until Aug. 14.
Tie Dye Day will be in Woodland Park Pavilion from noon until 3 p.m. Tuesday. Bring an item to dye, such as shirts, shorts or socks.
A day at the beach
Beach Day in the park is scheduled for July 21 (rain date is July 28) starting at 11 a.m. It will include sprinklers, the pool, beach balls, sand castle supplies, games, lemonade and sand art.
"Mommy and Me" Day will be at 1:30 p.m. July 31 in the Woodland Park Pavilion. Bring picnic lunches. There will be a craft to make together after lunch.
The Village Youth Triathlon is scheduled for Aug. 17. Pick up registration forms at the municipal building.
Park movies Tuesday nights throughout the summer. Park movies will start about 8:30 p.m. The movie schedule is: July 11, "Chicken Little"; July 18, "Doogal"; July 25, "Racing Stripes"; Aug. 1, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"; Aug. 8, "Dr. Dolittle 3"; Aug. 15, to be announced.
The McDonald Concert Series will be at the Ramsay Memorial Pavilion from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evenings. The Local 86-242 American Federation of Musicians arranged the musicians for the concerts. The concert schedule is: July 6, the Jim Frank Combo; July 13, Rocco Monaco Band; July 20, Del Rezek Band; July 27, the Frank Gallo Orchestra; Aug. 3, Mahoning Valley Button Box Club; Aug. 10, Big Band Sounds of the Don Burns Orchestra.
