Stambaugh Charter Academy names principal



YOUNGSTOWN -- Charles Fazekas has been named principal of Stambaugh Charter Academy, which will open here this fall.
Fazekas was previously the interim superintendent of West Allegheny School District in Imperial, Pa. He also served as West Allegheny's director of educational services.
The Stambaugh Charter Academy will be open for Youngstown-area pupils in kindergarten through fifth grade. The academy will be in the former Stambaugh School building at 2420 Donald Ave.
National Heritage Academies have scheduled two meetings for parents interested in learning more about the new school. Parents will also get the chance to meet Fazekas. The school will add one grade per year up through eighth grade.
The meetings will be at St. Michael's Social Hall at 125 Steel St. at 4 and 7 p.m. July 13. Pupil enrollment applications for kindergarten through fifth grade can be obtained in person at the meetings, by calling (866) NHA-ENROLL or on the Web at www.heritageacademies.com.
