Russian music concert to culminate in concert

AKRON -- The Balalaika and Domra Association of American (BDAA), in conjunction with St. Nicholas Balalaika Orchestra, will present its annual convention and gala concert, A Festival of Russian Music, July 9-16.
More than 100 musicians from the United States, Canada, Western Europe and Russia will gather at the Sheraton Suites in Cuyahoga Falls to rehearse for a gala concert that will be held at 7 p.m. July 15 at Kent State University auditorium. Ticket prices are $18 for adults and $15 for seniors and students.
The concert will include appearances by balalaika ensembles from cities throughout the United States and solo appearances by balalaika, domra and bayan (Russian accordion) artists from the U.S., England and Russia. The highlight of the concert will be a 100-piece balalaika orchestra conducted by Victor Gorodinsky from Madison, Wis.
