www.bibleliteracy.org: English professors at 34 top U.S. colleges agree: "Regardless of a person's faith, an educated person needs to know about the Bible," a new survey says. The survey of 39 professors from schools such as Yale, Harvard, Princeton and Stanford said knowledge of the Bible is deeply important to a good education. A lack of basic literacy hampers ability to understand both classics and contemporary literature, the study adds. www.ajc.org: The percentage of young American Jews who consider themselves Orthodox is growing, according to a new study. Sixteen percent of Jews ages 18-29 are Orthodox, which is nearly double the percentage of Orthodox among Jews ages 35-39, the study by the American Jewish Committee found. Orthodox Jews are also more likely to be married by age 30, the report said. "Younger Orthodox adults are likely to play increasingly important roles in organized Jewish life given their commitments, numbers and fertility patterns," said Steven Bayme, the group's director of contemporary Jewish life.www.mormontabernaclechoir.org: The 360-member, Emmy-winning Mormon Tabernacle Choir aired its 4,000th broadcast recently of the "Music and the Spoken Word" program -- a milestone in radio history.
