Mental health contracts renewed



Funding comes from federal and state sources.

MERCER, Pa. -- County commissioners have renewed $8.36 million worth of provider contracts for fiscal year 2006-07 with a group of providers for Mercer County Mental Health/Retardation.
They also signed $222,500 worth of contracts with providers of early intervention services, which include occupational, physical and speech therapy and other instruction.
Money for the programs comes from the Pennsylvania Office of Mental Retardation, Pennsylvania Office of Social Programs and federal sources.

Providers and their contract maximums for services for the mentally retarded as well as family-directed support services for the year are:

Betty Bacich, West Middlesex, home and community habilitation and respite in-home care, $8,535.
Community Counseling Center, Hermitage, $19,500.
Diversified Family Services, Hermitage. $1.83 million.
Fayette Resources, Inc., Lemont Furnace, Pa., $88,657.
Marsha Fioramonti, Hermitage, $10,760.
John Frazier, Masury, Ohio, $16,740.
JoAnne Kroner, Transfer, $8,460.

Connie Lee, Jackson Center, $4,000.
MCAR, Hermitage, $4.63 million.

All contracts are renewals from the last fiscal year except for George Yute's, which is new, said Katherine Main, MH/MR administrator. She added the cost for services has also remained the same for the coming year.
