Kidman in demand

Kidman in demand
SYDNEY, Australia -- Although she has tried to duck the spotlight, Nicole Kidman's every move has been followed by photographers, TV crews and fans in the days leading up to her wedding to Keith Urban.
On Friday, Kidman, Urban and some high-profile guests drove out of her waterfront property amid rumors of a ceremony rehearsal. "The nerves are fine," the Oscar-winning actress told reporters.
The fine points of the ceremony -- expected Sunday night -- remain top secret. But Kidman has been gracious and obliging, even sending out a case of beer for the paparazzi camped outside her harborside mansion Tuesday, her 39th birthday. (They sang "Happy Birthday" to her over the intercom.)
Kidman, who was born in Hawaii to Australian parents, and Urban, a country star who was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, ended months of speculation shortly after arriving in Sydney on Monday.
"We are very happy to be back in Australia," they said in a joint statement. "We have come home to celebrate our wedding with our family and friends."
McPhee battled bulimia
LOS ANGELES -- "American Idol" runner-up Katharine McPhee struggled for years with bulimia before seeking help, the singer said in a published interview.
At her worst, she would throw up as many as seven times a day, putting her singing career in jeopardy.
It was like "putting a sledgehammer to your vocal cords," McPhee told People magazine in an interview published Thursday on its Web site.
Attempts to reach McPhee were not successful. Phone numbers for her, her family or her publicist could not immediately be located.
McPhee, 22, told the magazine she sought help last fall after successfully auditioning for "American Idol." She enrolled in an eating disorder center in Los Angeles and spent three months in therapy.
Eminem's divorce
MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. -- Eminem has continued divorce proceedings with his wife, Kimberley Mathers, in a private hearing. Details of the meeting were not disclosed.
Mathers, who is seeking financial support, attorney fees and joint custody of the couple's 10-year-old daughter, Hailie Jade Scott, was seen being escorted out of the court building Thursday by a sheriff's deputy.
Her lawyer, Michael J. Smith, declined to comment. A message seeking comment was left with Eminem's attorney, Harvey Hauer.
Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, was not seen by reporters at the courthouse, but he was present for the hour-long meeting before Court Referee David Elias, court officer Mark Mileski said.
The 33-year-old Grammy-winning rapper filed for divorce April 5, less than three months after the couple remarried. Their first marriage ended in 2001.
Rihanna on soap opera
NEW YORK -- Another soap opera, another R & amp;B/pop diva.
After the announcement that Mary J. Blige will make a cameo on ABC's "One Life to Live" on July 28, the network revealed Thursday that Rihanna, the hot-selling 18-year-old singer, will appear on "All My Children."
Rihanna, whose debut album, last year's "Music of the Sun," has platinum certification, will perform songs including "S.O.S." from her latest disc, "A Girl Like Me," at the opening of a club called ConFusion in the fictional town of Pine Valley.
In the episode, scheduled to air July 25, Rihanna will walk down a red carpet featuring reporters playing themselves, ABC said.
