Checks slated for delivery on the third Wednesday of the month were affected, she said. The post office was aware of the problem and indicated those checks should have been delivered Thursday, Nixon said. However, if they don't arrive by Monday, Social Security recipients can file a claim for nonreceipt with their local Social Security office and get new checks issued, she said.
