NILES -- The DIG Project, a modern Christian rock band from Rochester, N.Y., will present a free concert at 7 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, 4 Summit St.
With influences that include Three Doors Down, Live, U2, Jars of Clay, Collective Soul, Audio Adrenaline and Third Day, the DIG Project's music ranges from hard rock to country, with touches of emo and punk. Freetime Magazine called The DIG Project, "smooth and effortless and always inspiring."
There is no admission charge, but a free-will offering will be taken. This concert is sponsored by First Presbyterian Church of Niles and the First Presbyterian Church of Girard. For more information, call (330) 505-1192.

MySpace awards AFI
LOS ANGELES -- MySpace.com, the leading Internet lifestyle portal, has announced that rock band AFI will receive the inaugural MySpace Music Award for a record-breaking 500,000 single-day plays from the band's MySpace Music profile (www.myspace.com/afi). The honor marks the first time MySpace has issued such an award to any of the more than 1.5 million bands using the site to connect with fans.
"This is the first time a band has had over a half-million song plays on MySpace in a single day, so we wanted to recognize this unbelievable accomplishment with something new," said Tom Anderson, president of MySpace.
