Man surrenders after barricading himself

WARREN -- Jason Howard, 24, address unknown, barricaded himself on the second floor of a Kenilworth Street S.E. house for 80 minutes Wednesday before surrendering peacefully to city police and federal marshals about 5:45 p.m.
Howard, who was sought by police on arrest warrants for two separate felonious assault charges, was to be arraigned on those charges at 9 a.m. today in Warren Municipal Court, said Lt. Cathy Giovannone, Warren police afternoon shift commander.
Giovannone said police searched for Howard at several addresses Wednesday before receiving information that he was at a house in the 800 Block of Kenilworth. At first he refused police orders to come out of the house, but he did not resist arrest when he did come out.
No other people were in the house at the time of the incident. Howard, who was being held in Trumbull County Jail pending his arraignment, was unarmed, and no shots were fired by police, Giovannone said. No additional charges were filed against Howard because of his actions Wednesday.
