YOUNGSTOWN -- Sean Morris, a 6-foot, 175-pound guard who spent the past two seasons at Colorado State, has joined the Youngstown State men's basketball program, coach Jerry Slocum announced Tuesday.
Morris will sit out the 2006-07 campaign, but will have two years of eligibility remaining.
In his two seasons at Colorado State, Morris, a native of Katy, Texas, scored 423 points, grabbed 93 rebounds and had 84 assists. He played in 50 games, starting 16. He made 89-of-219 3-pointers and was 78-for-97 at the foul line.
Morris' father, Chris, played in the NBA for 11 seasons from 1989-99 with New Jersey, Utah and Phoenix.

SteelHounds resign Chris Richards
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown SteelHounds coach Jean Laforest announced Tuesday that the team has re-signed center Chris Richards for the 2006-07 season.
The SteelHounds' second leading scorer during their inaugural season becomes the first player under contract for their second season in the Central Hockey League.
Richards, 30, had his most productive professional season last year with Youngstown when he finished with 22 goals and 70 assists for 92 points. The six-year CHL veteran made his mark among the league leaders, ranking second in assists and fourth in points. Eight of his 22 goals came on the power play, while two were short-handed. Richards was also voted the best face-off man in the CHL in the league's "Best-of-the Best" poll.
NAHL realignment
FRISCO, Texas -- The North American Hockey League announced it will replace its four-divisional alignment with a three-division setup for the 2006-07 season.
Also, the number of teams making the playoffs will also increase, two playoff rounds will be played instead of one and the Robertson Cup Championship will be played as a four team tournament.
The divisions for 2006-07 are as follows: North Division -- Alpena IceDiggers, Marquette Rangers, Mahoning Valley Phantoms, Traverse City North Stars and US National Team; South Division -- Alaska Avalanche, Fairbanks Ice Dogs, St. Louis Bandits, Santa Fe Roadrunners, Texas Tornado and Wichita Falls Wildcats, and Central Division -- Alexandria Blizzard, Bismarck Bobcats, Fargo-Moorhead Jets, North Iowa Outlaws, Southern Minnesota Express and Springfield Jr. Blues.
The regular season will begin with the NAHL Showcase in Blaine, Minn., September 13 and conclude April 1. The top four teams in each division will make the playoffs.
Brian Terlesky Jr. wins golf qualifier
WYOMING, Dela. -- Brian Terlesky Jr., 6, of Boardman, won his age group championship at the U.S. Kids golf world championship qualifier at Wild Quail Country Club.
Brian shot 6 under par 31 for nine holes on a course meauring approximately 1,000 yards, and qualified for the the U.S. Kids national championship in Pinehurst, N.C., July 26-29.
Brian is the son of Brian Sr. and Christine Terlesky.

MERCER, Pa. -- Mercer Raceway Park has five divisions of racing Saturday night.
The RoadRunner & amp; Lake Road Auto Sales Sprint Cars, American Racer/Lias Tire Modifieds, Tire Express Stock Cars, Maurer's Trading Post Strictly Stocks, and the second appearance by the Interstate Micro Sprint Series.
It's Welcome Ohio Night and $10 Family Night presented by ZOOM Internet. M & amp;M Insurance Group will hold its Corporate Night. Racing begins at 7 p.m.
All Ohio residents will be admitted free for general admission by showing a valid ID with an Ohio address. All accompanying children 15 and under will also be admitted free. Pit gates open at 3:30 p.m. and grandstands at 4:30. Hot laps begin at approximately 6:15 with the first official green flag at 7 p.m. Adult admission is $11. Students 6-15 are $5. Children five and under are free. Pit passes are $22.

*WARREN -- P.I. & amp;I. Express defeated Girard Hardware 5-1 in a Warren League game at Packard Park.
James Yohman hit a double for P.I. & amp;I. Express, and Marc Barca, Tommy Senich and Mike O'Neill had two hits apiece. Eddie Palestro had two RBIs for the winners. Mark Brown and Jonathon Camuso had two hits each for Girard.
*Ultimate Building Maintenance defeated Mahoning Valley Knights, as Pat Elias had five hits, including four doubles. Jim Newbrough added three singles, while Mike McKee doubled and singled. Cedric Haynes also had a double. Steve Chinn had three hits for the Knights, while Josh Geric doubled and Torrie Frangiamore had four RBIs.
