Robbins United Methodist Church, 100 High St., Washingtonville, will hold a strawberry festival from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday. The a la carte menu will feature hot turkey sandwiches, sloppy joes, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, strawberry shortcake, ice cream, coffee, iced tea and punch.
GOLF OUTINGS
Howland Alumni and Friends will sponsor a golf outing Saturday at Old Avalon Golf Course in Howland. The first tee time is 9:42 a.m. The entry fee is $80 and entitles players to the 18-hole scramble, a cart, a catered steak dinner, beverages and other refreshments. There will be an opportunity to win a car and other prizes for a hole-in-one and other challenges. The event is limited to the first 80 paid golfers. SALES
Crossing Paths, a local Christian TV program, will have a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the ministry building, 670 Dutch Lane, Hermitage, Pa. Baked goods and refreshments will also be sold.
Friends of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will hold a book sale the Friends Bookstore on the lower level of Poland Branch Library. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both Saturday and July 1, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 26-28.
St. Pius X Church, 1401 Moncrest Drive N.W., Warren, will sponsor a rummage sale in conjunction with the church's summer festival. Sale hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.Salvation Army will hold a community flea market and yard sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 8 to raise funds for the upcoming children's carnival. Spaces are available to sellers for $20 each for an 8-by-15-foot space. For information call (330) 270-1751.
TOURS
East Palestine Town and Country Garden Club will hold its fourth annual garden tour from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Four gardens will be available for viewing, refreshments will be served, and garden items will be sold. Admission is $6; children under 12 are free. Villa Maria Community Center will sponsor a Herb Day tour from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 8 beginning at Villa Maria Herb Gardens, one mile from the Ohio-Pennsylvania state line, off U.S. Route 422. Those attending will carpool to western Pennsylvania to view Plant's Herb Farm, Eagles Mere Gardens, Esther McCliman's Herb Garden and the Jamestown Soap Works. The cost for the day is $40 and includes a garden lunch of teas, spreads and salads featuring fresh herbs. Registration is required by June 30 and is limited to 30 participants.
