XGIRARD -- The May 20 wedding of Trisha D. Vanek of Cortland and John C. Sutliff of West Farmington took place at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with the Rev. Scott Gardner presiding at the 12:30 p.m. ceremony.
A reception was held at Roby Lee's in Newton Falls to honor the daughter of Dr. Vincent and Claudia Vanek of Boardman and the son of Paul and Margaret Sutliff of West Farmington.
After a wedding trip to Provincetown, Mass., the couple live in Cortland.
Fashioned of white satin, the bride's A-line gown was enhanced with beading and lace appliqu & eacute;s and was worn with a long-sleeved lace overcoat.
Light-blue gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Maria Patton, and the bridesmaids, Candice Wright, a sister of the bride, and Jeri Workman, the groom's sister.
The duties of best man were performed by the groom's brother, Reed Sutliff, and groomsmen were Paul Sutliff and Luke Sutliff, brothers of the groom. Guests were ushered by Keith Workman, the groom's brother-in-law.
The bride graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor's degree in education and earned a master's degree in education at Youngstown State University. She is a teacher with Youngstown City School District.
The groom is a self-employed construction worker with Sutliff Construction in West Farmington.
