SAN ANTONIO -- Shannon Johnson hit her first seven shots from the field and scored 21 points to help San Antonio snap a 10-game home losing streak. Agnieszka Bibrzycka added 20 points for San Antonio (5-4). The Silver Stars led 32-8 after one quarter, with Minnesota (4-6) shooting 4-of-19 from the floor, including a 1-of-9 performance from Seimone Augustus. Svetlana Abrosimova and Tynesha Lewis each scored 10 points for Minnesota.
Shock 71, Fever 63
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Cheryl Ford had 15 points and a season-high 18 rebounds to help Detroit end a two-game losing streak. Katie Smith added 13 points, and Swin Cash had 12 points and eight assists for Detroit (5-4). Tamika Whitmore led Indiana (7-4) with 19 points and former Shock player Anna DeForge had 15.
Comets 72, Liberty 58
NEW YORK -- Tina Thompson scored nine of her 22 points in the fourth quarter Friday night to help Houston pull away. Dominique Canty had 16 points and Michelle Snow added 15 points and seven rebounds to help the Comets (8-3) beat the Liberty for the second time in eight days and win their fourth of six overall. Sheryl Swoopes had six points and became the third player in WNBA history to top 4,000 in her career.
