WARREN City to crack down on parking violations



The safety director is responding to complaints from citizens and officials.
WARREN -- The city will be cracking down on unlawfully parked vehicles, Safety Service Director William Franklin said.
Vehicles that violate the city's parking ordinances will be ticketed and towed according to the guidelines.
Hardship cases will be taken into consideration, he said.
Franklin said he was responding to complaints from residents and council members about cars and other vehicles parking in front lawns.
Residences
Police will be ticketing for these violations:
UMotor vehicles cannot be parked on the grass in front of homes, unless a driveway has been made.
UParking of commercial trucks or construction equipment is prohibited in a residential district, except during time of construction.
UCampers, boats or utility trailers must be parked five or more feet away from the next residence.
Parking spaces
Tickets also will be given for residents violating these ordinances on parking spaces:
UParking spaces for a residence must be on the same lot as the residence.
UParking spaces are required to be at least two feet away from the adjoining residence.
UParking spaces for residences housing more than two families should be in the rear of the residence.
UA parking space for four or more vehicles should be screened from adjoining structures by a 3- to 6-foot wall.
UDriveways cannot be lengthened to include any part of the front lawn.
