These activities are planned this month at Moraine State Park and McConnell's Mill State Park, Portersville, Pa.
June 24: A beginning bird watching for children program will be at 1 p.m. in Moraine State Park. There will be a walking tour of the Sunken Garden Trail. Binoculars and guidebooks will be provided for children. Parents are encouraged to attend with children. Those interested are meeting on the south shore in the Pleasant Valley Picnic area.
June 27: The McConnell's Mill State Park naturalist will give an overview of activities available at the park and share history with hikers at 10 a.m. The Kildoo Trail hike will be followed by a tour of McConnell's Mill. The hike and tour will last about 2 1/2 hours. Those interested are meeting at the main playground and picnic area on McConnell's Mill Road.
