Symphony Guild plans golf outing



Golfers will vie for an array of cash awards and prizes.
LIBERTY -- Youngstown Symphony Guild is inviting area golfers to participate in its 10th annual Come Play Fore the Symphony golf outing to be held July 28 at the Youngstown Country Club.
The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast, registration and warm-up on the practice range. There will be a shotgun start at 8:45 and play will be based on a scramble format.
The entrance fee for each golfer is $125 and includes lunch, awards and a raffle. Reservations are required by July 1.
Team awards include first-, second- and third-place cash prizes and men and women's skill and luck prizes such as closest to the pin and longest or straightest drives. Prizes for holes-in-one will be a two-year lease on a Ford car and a cash award of $10,000.
Proceeds from the outing will benefit the Youngstown Symphony Society's educational outreach program, which includes preschool Storytyme presentations, musical visitations to Tod Children's Hospital, and school-release Young People's Concerts.
Eva Roesti and Irene Loser are committee chairwomen. Assisting them with the event are John and Jeanne Simeone, Ron Ditullio, Susan Berny, Sauni Cianciola, Susyn Schwebel-Epstein, Mary Lou Mack, Carol Sankovic and Mary Kay Zockle.
