Board certification
Dr. Anthony Bisconti has been certified as a diplomate in the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Bisconti has a private practice in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at 908 Sahara Trail, Boardman.
Board certification as a diplomate is an elective process intended to provide assurance to the public that an orthodontic specialist has successfully completed an approved educational program and evaluation process.
The process includes an examination designed to assess the knowledge, skills and clinical expertise required to provide quality patient care.
Completion of this process on a periodic basis is a demonstration of the orthodontist's pursuit of excellence and continued competency, the board said.
Dr. Bisconti received his dental degree from Ohio State University He completed his residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at the University of Louisville.
Dr. Bisconti is a member of the Corydon-Palmer Dental Society, the Ohio Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the American Association of Orthodontics.
DOCTORS
To begin residency
Alicia C. Walters Stewart, daughter of Kenneth and Roselle Walters of Girard, and daughter of Dorothea Walters of Vienna, recently graduated from the Medical University of Ohio in Toledo.
She was a member of Trumbull County Medical Society and Lucas County Academy of Family Physicians Award and received the Warren 12th District Academy of Osteopathic Medicine Scholarship.
She was a 2002 summa cum laude graduate of John Carroll University in University Heights, where she was a member of Phi Eta Sigma, John Carroll National Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta and John Carroll Pre-Medical Society. A 1998 graduate of Mathews High School, she was valedictorian and a member of its National Honor Society.
Her residency will be in family medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, N.C. She and her husband, Charles Stewart, live in Winston-Salem.
Veterinary degree
Erin A. Kelly has received her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. She received her bachelor's degree from Clemson University, where she graduated magna cum laude and was first in her class in animal sciences in 2001.
While in Baton Rouge, Dr. Kelly was part of the team that helped take care of evacuee animal victims from Hurricane Katrina and coordinated efforts to collect needed supplies. Dr. Kelly will be practicing in greater Charleston, S.C.
She is a 1997 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and is the daughter of William and Gayle Kelly of Poland.

Physical therapy
Peter J. Vilasi of Hermitage, Pa., a physical therapist at Rehab Network in Champion, recently obtained his doctorate of physical therapy from Slippery Rock University. The program's focus centered on developing evidence-based practitioners for the diagnosis, intervention and prevention of movement-based dysfunction.
Before completing his doctorate, Dr. Vilasi graduated from Ithaca College, Ithaca, N.Y., with a bachelor's degree in sports medicine and athletic training. He then received his master's of physical therapy degree from Slippery Rock in 1992.
He has been a part of Rehab Network's team since 1994. In addition to his duties as facility director in Champion, he also is head cross-country coach and a track coach at Sharpsville High School.
LAWYERS
Capital University grad
Adrienne Dorbish, daughter of William and Joyce Dorbish of Boardman, recently graduated with her law degree from Capital University Law School in Columbus.
Dorbish was awarded the Ron Friedman Award, which recognizes a graduating student who has actively contributed to the life of the law school. She also was admitted to the Order of Barristers, an honorary society that recognizes student excellence in moot court, mock trial and brief writing.
Dorbish graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School then received her bachelor's degree from St. Mary's College in South Bend, Ind. She is working for a Columbus law firm and also living in Columbus.
Degree from Emory
Sharice V. Fason-Owens recently received her juris doctor degree from Emory University School of Law, Atlanta. Fason-Owens received her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Akron in 1995. She was a salutatorian of The Rayen School in 1989.
She is the daughter of Beverly Ellis of Campbell. Fason-Owens and her husband, Michael, live in Powder Springs, Ga.
