Warren superintendent gets a 2 percent raise
Hellweg's contract expires in July 2008.
WARREN -- The city school board gave Superintendent Kathryn Hellweg a 2 percent pay increase to her base salary after she received a favorable performance review.
The increase will be retroactive through the beginning of the year and will not affect any other part of her contract, district officials said.
Hellweg's base salary is $106,000 per year. The 2 percent pay increase will give Hellweg and additional $2,120, bringing her yearly salary to $108,120.
The increase was based on a December performance evaluation, said Dawn Marzano, the district's communications director. Hellweg's contract states that if she received a favorable evaluation she would then receive a 2 percent raise.
Hellweg will undergo her regular yearly evaluation in August, board President Robert L. Faulkner Sr. said. Her contract runs through July 31, 2008.
The board passed the increase late Tuesday evening after having a meeting in executive session.
The board hired Hellweg July 26, 2005, to replace outgoing superintendent Betty English. Before coming to Warren, Hellweg was superintendent of Northwest Local School District in Cincinnati.
